Wallet Connection
This section describes how wallet connectivity is used within the Krang PlayArena and which role it plays in access control, participation, and reward distribution.
Wallet connection is optional for exploration but required for full participation.
Purpose of Wallet Connection
Connecting a wallet enables the PlayArena to:
- identify users in a non-custodial manner
- determine eligibility for participation requirements
- assign Play Credits and rewards
- evaluate KRANG holder-related parameters
The PlayArena does not take custody of user funds and does not request transaction approvals for gameplay access.
Supported Wallets
The PlayArena supports standard Web3 wallets compatible with the Base network.
Commonly supported wallets include:
- MetaMask
- Rabby Wallet
- Coinbase Wallet
- Trust Wallet
Support for additional wallets may be added over time.
Wallet Connection Flow
The wallet connection process follows these steps:
- The user initiates a wallet connection from the PlayArena interface
- The wallet provider requests user approval
- The wallet address is read and associated with the user session
- No transactions are executed during connection
The wallet address is used solely for identification and eligibility checks.
Authentication and Session Handling
To establish a secure session, wallet connection requires a one-time signature.
- the signature is used to prove wallet ownership
- no transaction is executed during this process
- the signature does not grant spending permissions
After successful authentication, a session token is issued.
- sessions are time-limited for security reasons
- users may be required to reconnect periodically
- session handling is enforced server-side
Read-Only Access
Wallet connection within the PlayArena is read-only by default.
This means:
- no tokens are transferred automatically
- no approvals are requested
- no smart contracts are interacted with during connection
- balances are queried for verification purposes only
Any on-chain interaction requires explicit user confirmation through the wallet interface.
Participation Without Wallet Connection
Users who are not connected with a wallet can access games in Trial Mode.
Trial Mode limitations include:
- gameplay limited to a predefined duration
- no eligibility for rewards or challenges
- no Play Credit consumption
- no burning score generation
Trial Mode allows users to explore gameplay mechanics without full participation.
Wallet-Based Eligibility Checks
Once connected, the wallet is used to evaluate:
- minimum KRANG holding requirements
- Krang Holder Level classification
- eligibility for Play Credit claims
- eligibility for challenges and rewards
Eligibility rules are defined server-side and may vary between games.
Security Considerations
Users are responsible for the security of their wallets.
The PlayArena will never:
- request private keys or recovery phrases
- initiate transactions without user confirmation
- ask users to sign unrelated messages
- request permissions unrelated to platform functionality
Users should verify wallet prompts carefully and interact only with official Krang interfaces.
Disconnecting a Wallet
Users can disconnect their wallet at any time.
Upon disconnection:
- the wallet address is no longer associated with the session
- full participation features become unavailable
- Trial Mode restrictions may apply
Summary
Wallet connection enables identification, eligibility verification, and reward distribution within the Krang PlayArena.
The process is non-custodial, read-only by default, and fully controlled by the user.
Participation without a wallet is possible in a limited Trial Mode, while full functionality requires an active wallet connection.
